This Canadian Fir earms Safety Course Non-Restricted Only runs over 1 day from 9:30 am to 5 p m. Testing is completed on a day following the instruction which is booked independently of the course. There is no additional charge for the testing .

This is the course required for your non-restricted C anadian Firearms Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL).

This course includes 8 hours of instruction on the date of the course a nd includes the testing which must be completed on a subsequent day.

Course content includes:

The evolution of firearms, major parts, types, and actio ns
Basic firearms safety procedures
Operating non-restricted firearm actions
Safe handling and carry procedures
Firing techniques and procedures

Care and maintenance of firearms

Laws: Safe storage, display, transportation and handling of non-restricted firearms

Ammu nition

Responsibilities of the fire arms owner/user

Government Issued ID

Minor’s Licence:

Individuals younger than 18 years o f age are only eligible to hold a non-restricted firearms license and as su ch will not be permitted to write the restricted portion of the Canadian Fi rearms Safety Course exam nor take the course for credit.

A minor’s license pe rmits the borrowing of non-restricted firearms for:

target practice;
org anized shooting competitions;
hunti ng; and,
instruction in the use of firearms.

A minor’s license also permits the acquisition of ammunition, unless ther e is an age restriction under the provincial or territorial law.
